Five could be set to launch a hi-def channel under an unlikely inspiration - Aussie teatime soap Neighbours.
Ramsey Street is set for a high definition makeover under rules demanding that Australia's main TV channels produce most of their shows in HD.
The hi-def episodes will air in Australia in spring 2008, and The Guardian reports they'll be over here three months later.
But Neighbours is due to switch from BBC1 to Five around April next year, and the Guardian's report hints that Neighbours' HD episodes will also be in HD when they get here.
So can we also expect to see the plodding forensics of CSI in hi-def next summer?
