Joost, the online TV service launched by the founders of online telephony provider Skype has gone public from today.
Featuring 150 channels of TV supported by advertising, Joost has been in closed beta form since December 2006. Programming is derived from networks including CBS, Viacom and Turner Broadcasting with series including CSI, Survivor, Beavis and Butthead and older shows such as Charlie's Angels and Starsky and Hutch. The service includes a searchable EPG and users can also interact with other users via chatrooms and an instant messaging service.
