David Jason is set to return to Terry Pratchett's Discworld for another Sky One mini-series,
The Colour of Magic, following his starring role in
Hogfather at Christmas.
Hogfather, the first live-action adaptation of one of Pratchett's bestselling comic fantasy novels, cost £6 million to make and pulled in a respectable 2.8 million viewers for Sky One.
Trade paper Broadcast reports that a bit of recasting is in order; while Jason played Death's butler Albert in Hogfather, he'll be taking on the role of the hapless wizard Rincewind in The Colour of Magic. He told Broadcast, "I've been looking at the script for a while and I'm really looking
forward to it. We start filming over the summer. I liked Hogfather, but I actually think The Colour of Magic is better."
Like Hogfather, The Colour of Magic will be shot in high definition, part of Sky One's bid to capitalise on its HD drama output with high-profile, big-budget productions.
