Nat Geo Wild HD launch date confirmed

Nat Geo Wild HD will launch on April 1 exclusively on Sky HD, it was announced today.

The channel will be National Geographic's second high definition service for the UK and will sit next to National Geographic HD, which launched in February 2006, on channel 544.

"High-end wildlife programming lends itself brilliantly to HD and now through Nat Geo Wild HD, viewers can fully immerse themselves in a channel truly dedicated to the natural world in stunning HD quality."

The channel's launch programming includes Blue Whale Odyssey, In The Womb and the second season of Strange Days on Planet Earth.
