Spanish digital platform Digital+ will likely also offer DSL service thorugh Telefonica network. This was the rumor that was running for months now, but the economical newspaper La Gaceta de los Negocios published an article quoting the forthcoming service. Sogecable, main shareholder of Digital+, will offer the pay-TV service, as well as DSL and phone services using Telefonica technical network. In compensation, Telefonica's pay-TV DSL service, Imagenio, will broadcast the only premier channel Sogecable still offers exclusively, Canal+.
It is also more than likely that Imagenio and Digital+ might merge within a reasonable time frame - over a year from now, depending on figures.
