Samsung Direct TV DVR Receiver provides you more tan 200 digital channels after subscription with Direct TV Services. The integrated DVR by TiVo gets activated on subscription Direct TV as well. Your receiver is completely authorized to direct TV.

Package Contents

Along with your Direct TV DVR Receiver the package contains following items. Direct TV access card, phone line splitter, power cord, phone cord and IR remote control with 2 AA batteries. Some cables are also provided as RF coaxial cables, composite A/V cables and S-Video cable. Apart from these components you'll need satellite dish antenna, a phone line and a TV set to enjoy full Direct TV subscription.

Watching Direct TV DVR

Watching live on the Direct TV DVR was never so cool. Hit pause button on remote. This will record your favorite show for 30 minutes. It also provides dual tuner so that you can record and switch between channels with no data loss on either channel. You can forward, backward and even watch instant replays on both channels.

Whenever you hit play or pause status bar appears. It shows the progress of the program you watching for one-hour period. Green line indicates the recorded time. A white line marker indicates the current part. If it is on green line then you are watching recorded part.

Press INFO on remote or front panel you'll see channel bar. It carries the information about the program. It displays information like Channel number, program name and icons like restrictions. It can be viewed in three different sizes. Each provides various amount of information.

Direct TV DVR Advanced Program Guide

Just hit the GUIDE button from remote or front panel. The list of channels will appear at left. Select a channel a description will appear in the grid. To record a program highlight a program a press record button. Your Direct TV DVR Receiver starts recording instantly of currently running program. If program is later then recording is scheduled. The advanced program guide carries advanced listings for next 14 days.

There are more than 200 channels to browse. You can create your favorite channel lists and tell the guide to display those lists. Three types of lists include all, channel you receive and favorite channels. All carries all channels. Channel you receive displays only channel your receiver allowed. The continuous music channels by Direct TV cannot be recorded or paused and played. You can save the program to VCR as well with save to VCR option.

You can change the guide style as list guide or grid guide. Filtering is also possible according to category. Moreover you can search your favorite programs by title, category or key word.

The scheduled recordings can be seen in TO DO list. You can schedule recordings using season pass option. It records as scheduled even if the time or channel changes. If the program is restricted by parental control feature it asks password to record. You can view all your recordings in now playing list. Highlight a recorded program. An information screen appears with some options. It allows you to delete, schedule delete or save the program to VCR. If the program is being recorded it allows you to stop recording option.
