Direct TV receiver provides you all the direct TV programming. It doesn't support Direct TV HD Programming. Works with off air antenna or cable. Supports analogue NTSC and digital ATSC programming.

Direct TV Receiver Package Contents

Along with your Direct TV Receiver the package contains remote control and access card. Card in must for Direct TV programming. The cables include A/V cables and jacks, S-video cable, phone cord and power cable. Other cables you have to purchase. User Guide is always there for any help.

Front Panel Of Direct TV Receiver

Front end allows you to interact with the Direct TV Receiver. It contains buttons as power button to turn on-off or stand by the receiver. In either case Receiver receives the messages. Remote control sensor is also there at front end. Menu takes you to main menu and Guide to advanced program guide.
Select, arrows and Info buttons to select a program, browse through channels and get information. There is a door panel. Behind the door panel there is access card slot. Also the reset button brings default settings back.

Back Panel Of Direct TV Receiver

Back panel contains connection jacks. Satellite IN from satellite to Direct TV Receiver connection. Use RF coaxial cable for his connection. Off Air IN for Direct TV Receiver and off air antenna or cable connection. Out to TV from receiver to TV or VCR. With this connection use ¾ Channel switch that allows choosing channel not used in your area.
S-Video provides better picture quality. Use it with audio cables instead of RF coaxial l cable jacks. Video works same as S-video but with better picture quality. Audio fro-audio cables. Phone to connect Direct TV Receiver with Phone line. AC power Inlet for power cord.

Watching TV

Channel Banner

Select any channel, a channel banner will appear. Channel banner shows lots of information. Current date and time, Direct TV channel number and station and messages from direct TV service providers. Parental control indicates if any locks and limits applied t the channel. Current favorites displays favorite channel lists. Audio options provide all available audio options. Program shows program title, start and end time and program ratings.

Guide

Guide button on front panel or remote control displays Direct TV advanced program guide. It keeps you up to date for next three and half days. Displays the program information with channels and timings. It contains all the feature of channel banner. Also contains picture in graphic (PIG) and time slots with half hour headings.

Auto Tune

One of the most attractive features of Direct TV Receiver is auto tune. Tunes to you favorite channel automatically. Highlight a program press info button. It provides you option of auto tune. With this feature you'll never miss your favorite movie, show or sport event.

Pay Per View

If your Direct TV Receiver is connected to phone line you can use this feature. Select program and press info. This allows you to view a pay per view program. Also available Purchase options and cancel purchase. You can reschedule the purchase as well.

Menu

Select menu from remote or front panel. This takes you to main quick menu display. It provides you number of options. They are settings, category sort, pay per view, find by, date&time, favorites, caller-ID&messages and parental control. Some options appear depending upon what screen you are at. Such as if you select menu with guide open filtering options will appear.

Settings

Settings provide four options. Setup, scheduling, favorites and parental control. Under setup info&test adjusts channel banner length and width. Satellite option in setup allows you to realign satellite. With display option adjust your TV screen. With audio you can change audio language when available. Scheduler allows two options. To Do list and Purchases. To do list displays all auto tune channels. Purchases the past and upcoming pay per view items. Favorites display the Favorite channels list. Parental Control allows checking currently applied restrictions.

Parental Control

Select Parental control from quick menu and it'll provide you three options. Ratings, channel blocks and spending. Ratings allow setting limits to rated programs. Channel blocks allow you to block specific channels. With spending allows setting a spending limit for a single pay per view purchase.

Category sort

Category sort option is available when you press menu with guide open. This option allows filtering the guide according to a category. Such as only display movie, news or sport channels and timings.

Find By

This option allows you search a program by channels, title, person or keywords. Like category this option is available only with Guide open.

Pay Per View

Selecting pay per view displays lists of DIRECT TV pay per view programs by category. ALL button displays all pay per view events. Movies show only pay per view movies. Special events display special events only.

Direct TV Receiver More Features

Date & Time displays current date and time. Favorites allow you to create favorite channel lists. You can also view created lists. With caller ID&message you can communicate with direct TV services. With limited 90-days warranty Direct TV receiver receives upgrades. Upgrades can be set to install automatically. You can also install manually.
